The Symbol Group is an international discussion group for symbol-related matters. Our aim is to promote a deeper appreciation of the symbol in contemporary society, striving for more diversity and international understanding of the power of simple, direct communication. Our core mission is to generate biennial symposia using symbol anniversaries to promote the understanding of symbols in contemporary practice.

The main concern of the International Institute for Information Design (IIID) is to contribute to a better understanding within the human community with respect to cultural and economic issues by means of improved visual and other forms of communication. Special attention is paid to the potential of graphic information design to overcome both social and language barriers.

British Academy Conferences bring together scholars from around the world to present, discuss and consolidate new research in the humanities and social sciences. Held at the British Academy’s own premises in London, at venues across the UK, or online, these landmark occasions offer students, scholars and specialists a chance to expand their networks and learn about the latest developments in their field. The scheme includes a strand of British Academy / Wellcome Trust Conferences, designed to foster discussion and debate on health and wellbeing-related themes.
